More movie producers support blu-ray, so that is one of reason why blu-ray will win battle. I think they did better marketing, because there are no too much deference in video quality(but of course adventage is also on blu-ray side. This is not my oppinion, but opinion from people who compared these two techniques.

Its funny to read these comments now that the dust has settled and Blu-ray has won the format war over HD-DVD. Blu-ray is the future, no questions about it

Hands down Blu ray disc will win. It’s because of Piracy, Blu ray disc are way expensive to copy and duplicate. It has also good quality, but sad to say Blu ray disc player are expensive too.

Definitely. And if you had asked me 6 months ago, I would have said HD-DVD. Exactly the reason why I’m staying out until the dust settles.
