@Karine & Jeremy - that is helpful advice. I think what I might do is look at selling some private ads to companies that we use their products. I just wasn't sure if there was an unwritten code in the higher ed blogosphere about advertising our your blog. I do this for fun and not for work, so it would be nice to make a little extra on the side.

@Jeremy - I just setup a new Atlanta Braves site. I'll have to send you the link... it's not exactly live yet, but you can tell me what you think.

Nice to meet you finally, Kyle!

I tried AdSense for a little bit, but decided to take it off since A) didn't do anything for me and B) seemed out of place due to my blog being on my schools website. I've seen others do it and do it well though, Brad J Ward for example.

Being a Braves fan, my step-sister might become their pilates instructor. She started with Tom Glavin and his wife, and I think she's currently in communications with them to get on with the entire team.

When I launched collegewebeditor.com almost 3 years ago, I signed up with Google AdSense and added a couple of ads. After 6 months (and earning 50 cents), I decided it wasn't worth the real estate on my blog.

I guess setting up an Amazon affiliate account (which you might have already) probably makes more sense with your (our) target audience. I haven't become rich with mine, but I might have made $10, which is definitely better than 50 cents.

Hope this helps.
