5 Reasons To Attend the 2013 .eduGuru Summit

Attending industry conferences is one of the best ways to learn from and connect with industry experts. Unfortunately with tight budgets and the expensive nature of travel it is usually one of the first things to get cut when financial planning. With modern technology physically attending is no longer the only way that you can enjoy a great conference.

If you missed our announcement the other week, the .eduGuru Summit is a two day online experience bringing you 10 subject expert presenters. The conference is broken up into two tracks, one for each day. Wednesday March, 27th, 2013 is the Strategic Track for marketing professionals and Thursday March 28th, 2013 is the Technical Track for web developers.

Visit for more information or to purchase a ticket today. People who register by this Friday March 8th can use the following code to get a 20% discount off any ticket: 20DOTEDUGURU

So with all that said if you still aren’t convinced here are five reasons you should absolutely attend the conference!

1. The .eduGuru Summit Is Completely Online

This is the third year that the trusted .eduGuru brand will put together an online conference. After two years of successfully running the online summit we have a track record of successfully creating an event that doesn’t require the travel and rewards back-channel discussions. The .eduGuru Summit also provides a unique opportunity to engage with the presenters.

2. We Have Legit High Ed Web Rockstar Presenters

We have true thought leaders presenting at the .eduGuru Summit. All of these presenters were hand chosen for their great presentation skills and expert subject knowledge. Our experts have also lived in the High Ed Web trenches and understand the nuances that make our industry different and the knowledge they share is specifically geared to help you.

3. The .eduGuru Summit is for both Strategic and Technical Individuals

We have learned that although most people in High Ed Web wear multiple hats it is still very helpful to breakup sessions into strategic or marketing focused sessions and then technical or mobile sessions. This way if you are only really focused onto one of these disciplines than you only need to attend the day and presentations that are important to you.

4. All Sessions Are Recorded

By recording every session we can guarantee that you won’t miss a thing. If you have a conflict and are forced to miss part of a day then you still won’t miss out. Also if there is a session or two that are critical and you would like to review or view it again then that will also be available to you. Providing this level of service is the standard for us not a nice to have.

5. A Truly Great Value

Not only is the .eduGuru Summit one of the best deals on attending a conference around but we also value your time. This means that we also save you from the “expenses” of travel. Sleep in your own bed without a feeling of jetlag is a real perk of the .eduGuru Summit experience. We also give you back that day of travel round trip for free!

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to and be sure to register by Friday so you can get the 20% ticket discount by using the code: 20DOTEDUGURU

Some of the biggest higher ed rockstars out there are in academic libraries. Library web developers have been pushing the webdev envelope for years with APIs, XML, open source, data harvesting, etc. What a shame to not see a single library webdev on the summit panel. And not a single faculty member!….even from the uber cutting edge digital humanities discipline.

Colleen – I’m sorry that we don’t have a lineup of presenters that you are interested in.

Everyone wants to attend this kind of events but there are few organizations who organized that sort of summits. So, I’m happy to attend this summit because it gives a great opportunity to connect with some of the greatest industry experts.
