googleanalytics200 Practical Example of Google Analytics New Advanced SegmentsYesterday I posted a case study showing how email marketing is still relevant to Young Alumni.  Because it’s the day before Thanksgiving and it’s a little slow I’ve been doing a little more digging into that campaign.  A little over a month ago Google Analytics launched some new features including Advanced Segments and Custom Reporting.  Unfortunately most people probably haven’t had the time to play around with them to find really practical uses for these new features.  So let me give you one.

top-5-challenge Case Study: Email Still Beats out Print and Social Media for EngagementNow I’m going to go ahead and admit upfront that we don’t have full tracking in place to measure the actual dollar amounts that this campaign contributed, but I think it’s still a good example to show people how we actually measured a recent Alumni Campaign.  This is a learn as you go process so next time we will hopefully get a little better, but we do have some takeaway knowledge about how to do it better the next time and which means better reaching of this audience segment.

frustrated_office_worker Student Worker ResearchIt’s time for you to give a little back, and help me with some research I’m doing for some presentations to follow up in the future.  But it will be worth it, because in helping me, I will help you by taking all these numbers and stats and turning them into something cool, hilarious, and informative.  One thing most all of us deal with in some capacity on a day to day basis are student workers of one kind or another.  The question is how we deal with them, and what they do for us.  We all have our own tools and systems in place, and I want to try to lay that all out a little for people.
