April 18th, 2008 by Kyle James An .edu domain selling it’s soul to bloggers has stirred up a lot of conversation this week. The issue revolves around .edu domains having a certain trust, prestige and nobleness that is separate from the rest of the web. Because of a grandfather clause and some legal loopholes an ingenious marketer is attempting to monetize off this valued trust. Personally I don’t believe it’s going to be a problem and not worth all the coverage. It is important to get the knowledge out, but I’m sure Google and others are all over this and if it becomes even the slightest problem they will blacklist the site. April 11th, 2008 by Kyle James The big news of the week is Yahoo’s acquisition of IndexTools. I’m not saying this because of personal experience, but that appears to be the buzz from a lot of blogs that I follow. Unfortunately I must admit I’ve never used IndexTools so I’m at a loss here. March 28th, 2008 by Kyle James This week saw two big announcements. First, as Brad reported yesterday YouTube releases Stats for Videos. You can read more about this over at Official Google Blog. This is great news for analytics junkies like myself. I post some of Wofford’s more general videos to YouTube so it will be nice to get some more insight into their views.

From initial reactions it looks like Buzz could be what takes social bookmarking fully mainstream. For those that haven’t heard BlogHighEd, which this blog is a member of, was chosen to be syndicated on a new startup site Alltop. You can read some reviews about alltop here, here, and here. I’m pretty excited about this and hopefully this will increase exposure to this blog along with the rest of the BlogHighEd gang.
