So I’ve got some upcoming presentations this year about Web Analytics for Higher Education and me being the anti procrastinator that I am have started to think about exactly what could I possibly say, like I have EVER had a problem with that before. This past weekend one of those moments of enlightenment came over me and I present to you my full definition of Web Analytics 2.0. (Ok so I’ve done a little more research and Avinash Kaushik has already coined the term and has his own definition, but just like Web 2.0 there are many definitions and everyone has their own interpretation. Also Avinash if you happen to read this, I just want you to know I’m a HUGE fan! Maybe your initial WA 2.0 advice that I’m sure I’ve read before finally just sunk in, who knows?) Starting in January we tried something a little different with our First Year Student blogs. As I’ve reported before I had a hunch that prospective students care more about videos, where their parents are more likely to read the student blogs. In a creative effort and some good collaboration we were able to combine the two into a student video blog! Now keep in mind you have to find the correct student to be able to carry on something like this, but I think it’s provided a very unique perspective of the campus and our Study Abroad program. Also for those soon to be college graduates here are some tools from Mashable, 17 Online Tools For Your Graduation.

I’ve noticed over the months that there is a select group of people that seem to comment across the blogs in the Higher Education arena. I’m assuming that there are more individuals following the conversation as BlogHighEd is reporting over 250 RSS subscribers on their site and I’ve got slightly over 75 on a good day so somebody must be reading this along with the rest of the Higher Education blogs. What I enjoy most about reading blogs is the ability to toss my 2¢ into the discussion. I’ll admit that I have a tendency to be a little outspoken. Read the rest of this entry »
