Wofford Monthly Web Analytics Summary - June 2008

I know that it’s no longer the first of the month, actually it’s smack dab in the middle, but I was holding out on reporting Wofford’s Monthly data because I was waiting on video data to arrive and I think I’m just giving up on that. Overall it was a quiet month with very few observations to report.
- Social Networking growth steadily continues
- Blog & RSS data is down in the summer, but our summer bloggers are holding their own thanks partially to a well placed promotion spot in the homepage rotation
- Alumni email marketing campaign returned some impressive open and click through results returning at least 35% & 15% respectively. These five targeted emails represented almost half our deliveries although only accounting for about 10% of total messages sent but delivered 83% of click through for the month. TARGETED MESSAGES WORKS!
Web Benchmarking Data

I’ve discussed Alexa Rankings before and including that as part of our Web Traffic Rankings, but this month we expanded to including Compete and Quantcast rankings into the equation. The comparison rankings with our selected peer institutions holds across all networks, for the most part. Basically combining these is attempts to standardize benchmarking across the services to better understand Web Traffic to institutional websites. More of this to come later.
